AllMusic Review by

Thirty songs covering 16 years, Jimmy Swan's complete output from 1952 through 1968/69, that any serious fan of Hank Williams ought to own already if they're really serious. Swan's twangy hillbilly intonation and stripped-down band sound went from being hot stuff on the radio and in the honky tonks around Hattiesburg to commercial poison in little more than three years, from 1952 to 1955, but he kept right at it until the end of the 1960s. It didn't sell much after 1955, but it sure is good listening.
