The easy, likeable pop folk of Jimmie Rodgers earned him several hits in the late '50s while he was under contract to Roulette Records, some of the biggest of which are included on this brief set, including "Honeycomb" and "Kisses Sweeter Than Wine." Unfortunately there is a lot that isn't here, as well, like one of his finest Roulette singles, the pleasantly resigned "Oh-Oh, I'm Falling in Love Again" and his excellent late-'60s hit "It's Over." For a more complete single-disc overview of Rodgers' career, listeners should turn to Rhino's Best of Jimmie Rodgers, which is exactly what it says it is.
