This European import was released as a companion EP to Madonna's wildly successful 1990 hits package The Immaculate Collection, and even boasts matching cover and CD artwork. It's a short EP, with only four tracks, one being the full-length original version of "Holiday," which appeared in an edited and remixed form on The Immaculate Collection. Three seminal Madonna hits are included that were not, for one reason or another, on The Immaculate Collection. "True Blue," a Top Five hit in the U.S. and the title track from one of her most successful albums, is here, as with both hits from the film Who's That Girl: the chart-topping title track and its number two follow-up, "Causing a Commotion." All three of these songs are included in their original, definitive versions. This collection would have been the ultimate part two had it included the other hits left off the Immaculate Collection: "Angel," "Dress You Up," "Oh Father," "Keep It Together," "Everybody," and "Burning Up," but then that would be quite a lot to ask. There are no liner notes included, but there are some nifty photos. If anything, this Holiday Collection makes for a good stocking stuffer.
