This splendid set follows the tango from its very earliest days in the 19th century (through re-creation of course) to recent nuevo experiments. Most of the music is played by the bands that made the style a local and international phenomenon: Anibal Troilo, who gave Piazzolla his start; Di Sarli, Caldara, Goyeneche. A 24-page illustrated booklet comes along with this not-to-be-missed set.
