AllMusic Review by

A middle-of-the-pack '60s garage compilation, assembled with more thought than usual (i.e. there are detailed liner notes). Some of these cuts are too generic to make much of an impact, yet the Fantastic Dee-Jays offer some outstanding pop-punk, the Motions' "Land Beyond the Moon" is good surf-flavored garage (although the oldest member of the band was 14), and the Cowsills' "All I Wanta Be Is Me" is raw folk-rock that bears little resemblance to their later pop hits. A future star can be heard on the decent offerings from the Vagrants, whose lead guitarist was Leslie West.
