AllMusic Review by

Hidden Stash 4-20 is the fourth collection of rarities and whatnots from the pro-pot rap-rock outfit the Kottonmouth Kings, and as with previous volumes, it's more about the weight than it is about the yield. On that count, 4-20 tips the digital scale at a fat 40 tracks. A handful are actually solo cuts, something you won't learn from the track list, which also fails to mention which tracks are remixes, which tracks are demos, or the names of any of the guest stars. That's a shame, because Tech N9ne deserves credit for the handful of cuts he enlivens, including the aptly titled "Sick Adventure" and the funky fourth-quarter highlight "Action." Other highlights include a stretched-out, dreamy remix of "Tangerine Sky" and the late-night creeper "Don't Sleep on the Streets," featuring Cypress Hill member and fellow bud enthusiast Sen Dog. Stoned is the way of the walk the whole way through, and while the simply curious will find it all overwhelming and redundant, hardcore fans with a high tolerance always appreciate how these Hidden Stash releases are overstuffed.
