If Aksel Schaufler's contribution to Kompakt's Total 2 compilation wasn't promising enough, his 2001 debut 12", Heroin, became one of Kompakt's finest upon its release. Each of these three tracks clocks in at just over seven minutes and features completely different sounds. "Don't Think Too Much" is a giddy dance track full of blooping and squirting noises. "Heroin" could be a theme lifted from an early-'80s undercover cop drama. "Tomorrow" is a downcast but uplifting song with a hypnotic guitar lick played over a shuffling rhythm, in which Schaufler repeats the phrase, "Tomorrow will not be like today" as a down-but-not-out mantra.
