AllMusic Review by

Covering a broad spectrum of house music released between the late '90s and early 2000s, Hed Kandi: The Mix -- Summer 2006 contains three discs of mixed material that only the snobbiest house fan (or DJ) could possibly deny. True to typical Hed Kandi form, the sequencing is rational -- if not the least bit daring -- and the transitions are fairly smooth, allowing for each selection to play out for a few minutes. The notables include Fedde Le Grande's "Put Your Hands Up for Detroit," Alan Braxe's "Intro," Roger Sanchez's mix of Basement Jaxx's "Rendez Vu," Tocadisco's mix of Mylo's "In My Arms," Community's "Over Like a Fat Rat" (featuring the original's vocalist, Fonda Raye), and the Freemasons' mix of Blaze's "Most Precious Love."
