Originally released in 2002, HEAD'S UP is the EP on which Death From Above 1979 hang their reputation. Although they've followed it up with a full-length and toured the world with Nine Inch Nails and Queens of the Stone Age, nothing quite matches the raw, inspired industrial noise-funk of HEAD'S UP. Taking cues from Lightning Bolt, the Liars, and electroclash, the band's recipe is a minimalist, danceable racket with enough rock sensibilities for the indie kids and enough Throbbing Gristle for the art-noise lovers.
