The Fenians would have quite a task to top the energy and fun vibe of their debut, 1999's Band of Rogues, since it was recorded live (and within their Orange County, CA, home base -- Santa Ana). So instead of attempting to replicate their debut in a recording studio, the quintet returned to the "scene of the crime" of their debut to record their sophomore release, 2001's Have Fun or Get Out! Taped over a four-day span in June of 1999, performances from their home away from home, the Galaxy Concert Theatre, are showcased, as well as performances from Fitzgerald's Pub in Huntington Beach, CA. And once more, the Fenians opt to combine originals (including the upbeat instrumental ditty "Casey's Jig") with renowned Irish classics (such as "Whiskey in the Jar," which bears little resemblance to the "rock" versions that both Thin Lizzy and Metallica have recorded over the years). As with all their releases, Have Fun or Get Out! could serve as a fine soundtrack at your next St. Patrick's Day party.
