This release, while not a complete reversion to the winning style of Harper's first two releases, is at least a step up from the disappointing Smithereens. There is a slight Brit-pop influence left over from that album, although this time it's not so annoying. Just like Seed, this album is bookended by excellent acoustic numbers that are better than the rest of the album. Fans will want this solid set to complete their collections, but the casually curious should opt instead for Seed or Instrumental for a more representative look at Harper's ability.
