AllMusic Review by

Not too many people have room for both the Hooters and the Beastie Boys in their record collection, but that demonstrates the haphazard range of Madacy's Hard Rockin' Hits: 20 Original Recordings. Excepting the Hooters appearance, the compilation lives up to its title, and it sticks to material from the '80s and the very late '70s. Most of these tunes are tried-and-true hard rock favorites, including Alice Cooper's "Poison," Rick Derringer's "Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo," Ted Nugent's "Wango Tango," Kansas' "Carry on Wayward Son," Henry Lee Summer's "Hey Baby," Edgar Winter Group's "Frankenstein," and, uh, Suicidal Tendencies' "How Will I Laugh Tomorrow."
