This CD reissue features Django Reinhardt during his postwar years when he switched effectively to electric guitar. Six songs are taken from his 1947 quintets; the personnel constantly changes but Django dominates the music anyway and is in fine form. of particular interest are the eight performances from March 10, 1953 for they showcase the great guitarist for one of the few times in his career accompanied by a standard piano-bass-drums trio. Recorded just two months before his death, Django Reinhardt still sounds very much in his musical prime, ranking at the top of his field.
