AllMusic Review by

The fifth of ten Bud Powell CDs taken from the private tapes of Francis Paudras features the innovative pianist in fine form. Best are three selections (over half of the music) on which Powell, bassist Pierre Michelot and drummer Kenny Clarke are joined by the always-swinging tenor Zoot Sims. All of the music on this release was recorded at the Blue Note club in Paris including a version of "How High the Moon" from 1957 that has trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie and Barney Wilen on tenor making Powell's trio a quintet. This is one of the better releases in the valuable series.
