First and foremost, this is not the Marshall Tucker Band's greatest hits album, although the packaging would lead one to believe that it is. Instead, this is eight of the original ten tracks from their solitary Mercury release, Still Holdin' On (which was not one of the band's better efforts, by the way), coupled with two of their actual "hits." The beautiful 1973 cover art is also misleading, since only two of the tracks were recorded in the seventies. The same set would be issued yet again in 1998 under the title Keepin' the Love Alive.
