A pretty decent little selection of late '50s and early '60s pop/rock/novelty faire, Greatest Hits of the Golden Groups provides a good overview of the pre-Beatles era. Tracks like "Tequila," "Maybe," and "Sleepwalk" have aged gracefully. The doo wop influenced "Speedo" and "In the Still of the Night" are also standouts. Unfortunately, the record is very short -- containing only ten cuts -- and the sound quality changes from cut to cut. Obviously transferred from different grades of masters, this makes a full listen more than a bit difficult. As a budget catch-all, it's not too bad, though.
