This nine-track Italian compilation, containing singles released by James Brown between 1965 and 1971, is notable for including both parts of such extended songs as "I'm A Greedy Man" and "Get Up (I Feel Like Being A) Sex Machine." While it does contains R&B chart toppers like "Papa's Got A Brand New Bag," "It's A Man's Man's Man's World," "Cold Sweat," and "Super Bad," it misses some of Brown's other big hits of the period in favor of less successful numbers such as a remake of "Kansas City" and the noncharting 1970 single "Hey America." But since the second half of the '60s was a period of prime Brown, almost any compilation from it is worthwhile. Still, the best of what's here is more easily available on other domestically released records.
