AllMusic Review by

Although this three-disc, 51-track set truly does have some of the greatest and most enduring country recordings ever, like Johnny Cash's "I Walk the Line," Dolly Parton's "Jolene," and Skeeter Davis' "The End of the World," it has a few too many delightful but still off-the-wall sides like the Flatlanders' "Tonight I Think I'm Gonna Go Downtown," the Flying Burrito Brothers' "Hot Burrito #1," and even Dr. Hook's "Sylvia's Mother" to amount to any kind of organized survey of modern country. It is a fun playlist, though, and perfect for a long Sunday drive after that Saturday night honky tonk.
