AllMusic Review by

This European CD is rather confusing when one tries to figure out which performers are on which tracks because the program jumps around chronologically and features four different groups: the Quartier Latin Jazz Band (which does not play Latin jazz ), Michel Attenoux's Dream Band, Dieter Antritter's Travelling Jazz Band, and the Great Traditionalists in Europe. However, there is a unity to the music, which is pre-bop and often pre-swing in nature. Among the more notable musicians to be featured, usually on just a selection or two apiece, are Benny Waters (on clarinet in 1960), trumpeter Peanuts Holland, clarinetist Mezz Mezzrow (on "Tommy's Blues"), singer Susie Francis, and trumpeter Nelson "Cadillac" Williams. The remainder of the musicians are European players who are quite skilled in playing trad jazz. Among the 18 selections that are explored are two rather different versions of "After You've Gone," "C-Jam Blues," "St. Louis Blues," "Creole Love Call," and "I've Found a New Baby." An intriguing if almost haphazard set.
