It would be hard for a hastily put together blues compilation like this one to live up to its title; this one doesn't. Despite the fact that there's no rhyme nor reason in compiling these tracks, there isn't a weak one in the bunch, and some of these performances are downright sizzling -- check B.B. King's "Recession Blues" and Memphis Minnie's "Me and My Chauffeur" for just two examples. Despite the budget package and the randomness of its scope, this is cheap and every track is a winner.
