Kate Voegele continues living a double life with Gravity Happens, a pop/rock album whose best song, “Heart in Chains,” was also performed on One Tree Hill by Mia Catalano, Voegele’s TV alter ego. Like One Tree Hill, Gravity Happens targets the young adult mainstream, mixing Top 40 melodies with the marketable alt-rock sneer of early Michelle Branch. Voegele sings the same way she acts -- confidently, competently, but somewhat devoid of anything unique -- and Gravity Happens winds up taking a predictable route, even though some of its tracks are worthwhile destinations.
