AllMusic Review by

Kaidi Tatham (aka Agent K) and Dego McFarlane (aka Pavel Kostiuk) collaborate on the two-track Got Me Puzzled 12", one of the better releases on McFarlane's 2000 Black thus far -- see Titonton Duvante's "Avenues" and Seiji's "Into the Now" for other label highlights. The A-side starts with an almost sullen keyboard tone (somewhat surprisingly, it could've been nicked from an early-'80s crime thriller) and develops into a mid-tempo groove that takes advantage of both producers' talents without being the least bit flashy. The track takes its time in unfolding, boosted by infrequent stutter-step drums. Multiple overlapping tracks of vocalist Face (Domu's "Save It," Nutmeg's "State of Mind") provide the terse, repetitive refrain. Neither overly noodly nor innocuous, it would become a highlight of Bugz in the Attic's Fabriclive.12 mix later in the year. B-side "Dhutty Jancrow" isn't nearly as significant, though it's useful for the wind-down segment of a DJ set.
