Gospel Classics Series is a budget-line series from RCA that was designed to showcase great gospel recordings from individual artists that had yet to appear on compact disc. The Statesmen were one of the most popular gospel groups of the '50s and '60s, but their recordings were out of print for years. Although it isn't a perfect collection, this budget-line disc is a good overview of their most popular recordings, featuring such songs as "What a Savior," "Without Him," "How Long Has It Been," "Brighten the Corner Where You Are," "I Wouldn't Take Nothin' for My Journey," "Just Over in the Glory Land," and "Will the Circle Be Unbroken."
