Robotic assaults and pants-down squelch scream blurt. Yeah, hi, we're XBXRX. Taking cues from all sorts of wild-child noise/discordant rock outfits (ie: Arab on Radar, Nation of Ulysses), XBXRX have built their name based on ridiculously over the edge nonsensical dance-party live performances, which usually result in crashing instruments, bruised bodies, and a spattering of sound in the midst of an attacked audience and scattered setup. Gop Ist Minee, a name which somehow captures the chaotic computer vomit of the music encased within, is surprisingly well done, especially for a band which could easily come off as a gimmick. Recorded to tape by the master Steve Albini, which somehow issues further credit to their cause, you have to wonder: are these kids completely crazy or are they on to something? The answer is, perhaps, both.
