Good Sh*t, Vol. 1: 100% Pure Hits of the 60s is a pretty bold title for a short, very basic collection of hits from the '60s. The tracks were seemingly picked at random out of a hat, but that doesn't make the disc a failure since -- with two glaring exceptions -- the songs are so strong. Any disc that has the Soul Survivors' "Expressway to Your Heart," the Trashmen's "Surfin' Bird," and Lee Dorsey's "Ya Ya" can't be all bad. However, the inclusion of Bobby Sherman's lame "Little Woman" and Johnny Tillotson's "Talk Back Trembling Lips" is bad. With only 12 songs on the disc, there just isn't room for two clunkers. If you are looking for a disc that rounds up some great '60s sounds, you can do better.
