Storyville's Golden Years of Revival Jazz series has a few selections apiece in each volume from a variety of Dixieland bands based in England and Scandinavia, dating from the 1950s and early '60s. Although it would have made more sense to reissue complete sessions in order rather than scattering the dates among the 15 CDs, the music is quite enjoyable. Vol. 11 features Papa Bue's Viking Jazzband, Monty Sunshine ("Wild Cat Blues"), Ken Colyer, Dick Charlesworth's City Gents (including "Yes! We Have No Bananas"), Chris Barber, Leonardo Pedersen's Jazzkapel (which performs arrangements by Luis Russell and Don Redman), Papa Benny's Jazzband, and Cy Laurie's New Orleans Septet. Trad fans will want the entire series.
