AllMusic Review by

Gene Pitney's Golden Classics contains 12 of the pop singer's well-known songs originally recorded for Musicor in the early to mid-'60s, including "Twenty-Four Hours From Tulsa," "(The Man Who Shot) Liberty Valance," "Mecca," and his biggest hit from 1961, "Town Without Pity." The casual listener will be pleased with the choice of material on this disc, but the collector who wants more should invest in Looking Through: The Ultimate Collection, available on the U.K.-based label Sequel.
