This three-disc box set includes almost 50 of the best traditional pop songs from the 1940s and '50s, whether used in movie musicals or standard dramas. The set forms a stellar compendium of mid-century show-business song, including dozens of favorites by the biggest entertainers of the day: Fred Astaire on "Let's Face the Music and Dance" and "Cheek to Cheek," Judy Garland on "The Trolley Song," "Over the Rainbow" and "Get Happy," Dick Powell on "Hooray for Hollywood" and "You Must Have Been a Beautiful Baby," plus "We're in the Money" by Ginger Rogers, "Begin the Beguine" by Artie Shaw, "Inka Dinka Doo" by Jimmy Durante, "You're a Grand Old Flag" by James Cagney, "Paper Doll" by Lena Horne, "Jeepers Creepers" by Louis Armstrong, and many more.
