P-Vine's collection of male gospel quartets is a stunner. It includes material recorded by the original Famous Soul Stirrers, the Royal Jubilee Singers, the Famous Gospel Four, the L&N Gospel Singers, the Royal Harmony Singers, the Southern Travelers, and the Flying Clouds. The sound has been cleaned up as much as possible and the notes and package are stellar as well. The tracks here are all from the postwar period when the Thomas Dorsey manner of arrangement and style were in full flower. Highly recommended.
