AllMusic Review by

Goin' Someplace! means a round-the-world album -- a decidedly backward step but not an illogical one for the Command team plus upstart newcomer Warren Kime. Besides the fact that most of these tunes had enormous precedent, even as brass arrangements (think Tak Shindo and others), the application of the mod "big beat" and "wordless chorus" works somehow. Probably the standards and exoticism give life to the waning brass impact group at least as much as vice versa. The title track is Kime's original, while the token Brasilian number is by Deodato this time. A honking "Tequila" and "Cielito Lindo" cover the Latin bases, although vibes, marimba, and Latin percussion are heard throughout the Brass Impact series. As usual, the real stars are the "girl singers," one of whom is Donna Kime. Imagine the gold-dressed woman from the cover of Mallet Mischief letting go in "song," and you'll have an idea of the brass impact. Great as it is, even as a singular achievement in the mod movement, three albums are more than enough.
