AllMusic Review by

One of San Francisco's finest DJ's, Julius Papp is a jazz-funk extraordinaire, and here he proves it beyond a doubt with this 74-minute mix of delicious deep house. Mixing choice tracks from the Maxi vaults, he comes up with 13 excellent selections, from the opening spoken-word and African drums collaboration "Untitled Intro" by the Listening Parlor, and the Joe Claussell mix of "Love and Respect" by the Carlos Sanchez Movement, to the moody jazz phrasings of Big Muff's "My Funny Valentine" and the lush string arrangements of Byron Burke's "String Section." Danny Tenaglia's alter ego Soulboy makes two appearances ("Love or Lust" and "Harmonica Track '97"), and Papp himself with partner Dave Warrin ("Santos" and "Let Me Be") round out the track listing. For all-night groovin' and chillin' out, this LP can't be beat.
