Gloria in Excelsis Deo features nine parts, each including several hymns. The parts are only a few minutes long each, for the most part, so there really isn't much time to devote to each hymn; in general, the hymns last about a minute each before the music segues into the next hymn. The hymns are performed by a large cast of musicians, including an orchestra, vocalists, soloists, and children. This album is created, arranged, and produced by Tom Fettke and is orchestrated by Bruce Greer. The orchestral scores are performed by the Nashville String Machine. Some of the hymns performed over the course of the nine parts include "Angels We Have Heard on High," "Behold, a Virgin Shall Conceive," "For Unto Us a Child Is Born," "Silent Night! Holy Night!," and "Go Tell It on the Mountain."
