AllMusic Review by

Global Underground is not a band, but rather a loose collective of progressive house DJs who have contributed their music to create this compilation. Arrivals follows on from the first Global Underground compilation, Departures, which appeared in 1998.

Each piece segues straight into the next, making it difficult at times to separate individual tracks. But that's not what Arrivals is all about. Rather, this album strives to recreate the club experience by presenting the music in the format in which it would be presented live.

While it is unfair to pick highlights from an album that is much more than just a collection of songs, Tilt's "Seduction of Orpheus" and "The Chain" by Breeder are particularly worthy of mention.

A world away from the crass commercial offerings of the Vengaboys and Britney Spears, Arrivals is simply dance music at its very best.
