AllMusic Review by

Glam Greats, Vol. 2: Seventies Sensations follows in the high-heeled, window-rattling tradition of Glam Greats: 20 Seventies Stompers, featuring many of the same bands and also the same high-energy mix of tough-as-stone rockers by the likes of Slade ("Skweeze Me, Pleeze Me," "Coz I Luv You"), the Sweet ("Ballroom Blitz," "Teenage Rampage"), and T. Rex ("Metal Guru," "Solid Gold Easy Action"), along with sweet pop candy from the Rubettes ("Juke Box Jive"), Barry Blue ("School Love"), and the Bay City Rollers ("Give a Little Love"). This collection also ranges slightly farther afield with the inclusion of Chicory Tip's astoundingly cool "Son of My Father" and the original version of "I Love Rock & Roll" by the song's authors, the Arrows. The packaging here is top-notch, too, with photos of Dave Hill of Slade's custom-made Superyob guitar and liner notes penned by the proud owner of said guitar, Marco Pirroni of Adam & the Ants. As with Glam Greats: 20 Seventies Stompers, this disc provides both an excellent intro to the glam sound and an incredibly fun and exciting listen.
