AllMusic Review by

This three-LP box set is regrettably out-of-print, for it serves as a fine introduction to the unique clarinetist Pee Wee Russell. The 40 selections included here span a 35-year period and are highlighted by early sides with Red Nichols, many encounters with Eddie Condon's bands (including some real classic performances), a few numbers from Russell's mid-'30s association with Louis Prima and later recordings with his own pickup groups. Along with an excellent booklet, this box is an excellent tribute to a truly individual stylist.
