AllMusic Review by

Ghetto Uprising is a two-CD set with an early-'90s album from Jimmy Cliff, Steppin' Out of Limbo, and a greatest-hits package from Dillinger that covers his work from the '70s and '80s. While the pairing isn't inspired, both albums are, and the set is less expensive than buying each individually. Steppin' Out of Limbo was originally titled Breakout, and both titles refer to Cliff's eclectic writing here that adds Brazilian and African influences to the reggae mix. Dillinger's set, Under Heavy Manners, features some of his best toasting and his best-known tune, the funky reggae smash "Cocaine in My Brain," as well as a couple of its follow-up misses, "LSD" and "Marijuana in My Brain."
