AllMusic Review by

Although Brass Construction architect Randy Muller played a role in the assembly of Get Up to Get Down: Brass Construction's Funky Feeling, the compilation, for whatever reason, does not include any of the band's first four charting singles. That means that neither one of their two biggest charting R&B hits -- namely, the number one "Movin'" and the number eight "Ha Cha Cha (Funktion)" -- is here. Otherwise, it's an adequate anthology with charting singles ranging from 1977's "What's on Your Mind (Expression)" to 1984's "Partyline." If you happen to own the band's first album but don't want to splurge on the remainder of the catalog, this is ideal. Otherwise, avoid it.
