This 10" LP has eight swing era recordings by five different small groups. Singer Mildred Bailey and a quartet (trumpeter Bunny Berigan, altoist Johnny Hodges, pianist Teddy Wilson, and bassist Grachan Moncur) perform "Squeeze Me" and "Downhearted Blues"; Jess Stacy's trio in 1935 uplifts "The World Is Waiting for the Sunrise"; pianist Meade Lux Lewis is heard on a remake of "Honky Tonk Train Blues"; and there are two songs apiece from a Bud Freeman group with Bunny Berigan and clarientist Joe Marsala's Delta Six (with Benny Carter, Pete Brown, and Bobby Hackett). All of the music has since been reissued in more complete form, but this 10" has more than its share of exciting highpoints.
