This ten-track budget compilation is a great little bargain for fans of mid-'60s garage band music. There are a couple of ringers whose appearance are debatable in this collection ("Summertime Blues" by Blue Cheer and "Little Red Book" by the Litter), both outside the time frame being spotlighted here. But it's hard to fault the clean master tape transfers aboard of "Shakin' All Over" by the Guess Who, "Talk Talk" by the Music Machine, "Dirty Water" by the Standells, "Are You Gonna Be There (At the Love-In)" by the Chocolate Watchband, "Blues Theme" by Davie Allan and the Arrows, and "Pushin' Too Hard" by the Seeds. The real bonus track here is "Shape of Things to Come" by Max Frost and the Troopers in a true, separated stereo mix that's a feast for the ears.
