AllMusic Review by

DJ Onionz is a New York DJ/producer whose style combines the Latin-tinged garage of his home city with the more tribal, funky house sound coming from the West Coast. All of which was very trendy at the beginning of the 21st century, giving this nondescript mix CD a chance at reaching an audience. You almost want to compliment Onionz on not using any bigger artist's tracks to try to sell this record. H-Foundation is the only more recognizable name, and they contributed only one record, the swaying, tribal "X-tra Large." That said, there is also nothing on this CD that particularly merits attention. The mixing is clean and the tracks segue well, but there is nothing driving this mix from point A to point B. There are some nice moments, including the che'-groovy flute on Powder Production's "Cuban Fire," but isn't it a DJ's job to do more than just play a few cool records?
