The Blues Kats, Arthur Migliazza and Joe Martinez, were 16 and 17 at the time this was made, but you wouldn't know it if you didn't see the picture on the back of the cover -- their stellar playing belies their age. This is one very solid disc of timeless boogie-woogie. It has a rich, full sound, particularly when you consider that the band is just Arthur on piano and Joe on drums. Six of the 11 tunes are written by Arthur, or Arthur and Joe collectively, and they also did the musical arrangements. Give a listen to what they do with "Hallelujah Train," the Mark Braun composition, and Meade Lux Lewis' "Honky Tonk Train." An excellent and tasty disc filled with outstanding music.
