AllMusic Review by

Fun Club, the sophomore effort for Italian dance artist Alexia Aquilani, entrenched her as a performer to be reckoned with in the clubs, spawning two highly successful hits across the European continent in "Uh La La La" and "Summer Is Crazy." The former is a jaunty, infectious number that leans a bit more to pop (and is reprised in a Spanish-language version), while the latter is a thumping number replete with tinkling keyboard flourishes. Working with producer and arranger Robyx (Ice MC, KC & the Sunshine Band, Corona), Alexia has created an album that is heavy on high-energy tracks with a Euro-disco flavor, like "Virtual Reality," "Another Way," and the galloping "Me and You." Variety arrives in the form of the mid-tempo light funk of "Because I Miss You" and the surprisingly soulful ballad "Hold On," which reveals some versatility in Alexia's vocal styling, allowing Fun Club to live up to its title and provide a fairly savvy dose of pop-tinged dance music.
