When a CD is titled Full On Hate Fuck and one of the two bands on the CD calls itself the River City Rapists, you can safely assume that the label is going for shock value. But once you get past the CD's outrageous title and the band's name, Full On Hate Fuck isn't terribly shocking. Those who acquire this album won't hear anything that's really over the top -- what they will hear is an exhilarating album that focuses on two hardcore punk bands from Austin, TX: the Bulemics and the aforementioned River City Rapists. Both bands offer true-blue, state-of-the-art punk -- abrasive, angry, snarling, and in your face. Neither band is innovative; most of the 16 songs on this album could have been recorded 20 years earlier in the late 1970s. But both bands are focused and inspired, and those with a taste for serious punk will enjoy this album.
