Gary Morris may have the best voice in country music. However, he's really not a country singer; in fact, his voice is more suited for the Broadway stage. Accordingly, he was the original (and maybe best) Jean Valjean in the musical version of Les Miserables. Morris has even ventured into opera. While his voice is magnificent, most of the material on Full Moon, Empty Heart is only pleasant, at best. "The Man Upstairs" is a nice ballad, but none of the songs match up to his superb voice, which seems restrained on this release.
