Rough-hewn vocals the flavor of Billy Joe Shaver, with the reckless spirit of Gram Parsons serving his rock & roll apprenticeship with the Stones. The revved up country-honk backing is ragged, but definitely right. This six-song EP -- recorded live on a hot summer night in a Southern college town -- was released to give a taste of the band's fire. The result has a lot of charm, not to mention a liquid cover of the Flying Burrito Brothers' "High Fashion Queen." Cool!
