AllMusic Review by

The least essential of the Friends and Relations series, Hawkwind Friends and Relations, Vol. 3 contrarily boasts two of the best individual performances of them all: Robert Calvert's "Widow Song" and Dave Brock's "Wired Up for Sound"; while the variations on "Flying Doctor" and "Drug Cabinet Key" will intrigue archivists. One cannot complain that Hawkwind Friends and Relations, Vol. 3 does not spread its wings: the Alman Mulo Band was a post-Hawkwind project by bassist Harvey Bainbridge, while Underground Zero are a Norwich, England-based band that specialize in absolutely idiosyncratic Hawkwind, Fleetwood Mac, and Stranglers' covers. Unfortunately, such wide-ranging contents do not necessarily make for an especially satisfying listen, and it was, perhaps, merciful that Flicknife discontinued the series following this release.
