AllMusic Review by

A glittering compilation with a nice selection of Sister Ree's interpretations of pop and soul hits demonstrating her extraordinary ability to take songs done by others and make them her own. She's one of few soul artists able to consistently get away with pop remakes, not just as album cuts or B-sides but A-side releases. All 22 tracks glow like diamonds, and gold stars would be appropriate for her renditions of "Wholy, Holy," "Until You Come Back to Me," "I Say a Little Prayer," and Lennon and McCartney's "Eleanor Rigby." The originals, however, are the real gems and includes "Since You Been Gone," "(You Make Me Feel Like A) Natural Woman," "Rock Steady," and the longing ballad "Angel" written by her late sister Carolyn Frankin and William "Sonny" Saunders.
