Frat Rock: The '80s Review

by Stephen Thomas Erlewine

The '70s editions of the Frat Rock series concentrated on album-rock crossover hits. Frat Rock: The '80s is more schizophrenic. Most of the disc concentrates on new wave hits like Madness' "Our House," Adam Ant's "Goody Two Shoes," Devo's "Whip It," Stray Cats' "Rock This Town," and Tommy Tutone's "867-5309/Jenny Jenny," but it also has album-rock tracks like the J. Geils Band's "Centerfold" and Top 40 cuts like Robert Palmer's "Addicted to Love," Glenn Frey's "The Heat Is On," and Poison's "Nothin' but a Good Time."
