One of the top soul singers of the early 21st century, Glenn Jones pays tribute to R&B classics and standards, particularly from the past 20 years, on Forever: Timeless R&B Classics.Jones began his singing in the church, and in the '70s was headed for a career in gospel music when he was discovered by producer Norman Connors. During his period with Connors, Jones developed his voice in the secular music world, having a series of hits between 1983-1994 and he's been evolving ever since. Forever is full of songs associated with Peabo Bryson, Toni Braxton, Tony! Toni! Toné!, Rene & Angela, Bobby Womack and Stevie Wonder, among others, with Glenn Jones giving each tune his own personal spin. The arrangements are in the tradition but are not overly derivative of the original versions, and they showcase Glenn Jones' warm voice quite favorably.
