The words "highly erratic" best describe the sequencing throughout For Your Love. Jumping from REO Speedwagon to Gregory Abbott to Walter Egan may sound like a game one could play involving six degrees and Kevin Bacon, and it's probably the biggest detractor from this compilation. It's a 42-minute excursion in how not to curate a soft rock record, jumping sonically all over the place from arena rock (REO Speedwagon) to quiet storm (Isley Brothers, Surface) to the Bangles does not make for a solid recording. For those who can tolerate this jarring sequencing and want to enjoy a budget-line compilation with the hits, then this will be an enjoyable listening experience. But those who enjoy a little more continuity and semblance of order to their records may want to look elsewhere for their soft rock/rock ballad/quiet storm fix.
